Saw the trailer a couple of weeks ago. Did look pretty stupid. Couldn't even tell that it was a Dragonball movie until they showed the title.

Should'a skipped to the DBZ storyline... can't say I'm too interested in a movie version of the original Dragonball.

I've gotta agree with y'all. All 3 trailers are awful. This movie will be very painful to watch. :hurt:

OMG! I just saw the trailer... Image

Stephen Chow does really good funny movies... Image Dragonballz is supposed to be funny... How did they mess this up? Image And I was expecting Chow to be the main actor... He's always the main actor in his films.

They turned Dragonballz into an action flick. Blah... Image

Goku is supposed to be chubby and cute? This might as well as go straight to DVD.

This will either (epically) fail miserably or do so amazing they make a trilogy. 8O

LOL-I read an interview with Toriyama where even he said he was surprised by what the movie turned out being...I believe he said something to the effect of it could be an alternate reality version of events.

Hollywood sees most of these properties with the "Michael Bay" fish eye lens. Alien comes to earth...finds bad guys...KUURASH! BRAAAA! S'PLOOODE! the end-roll credits.

It does look pretty sucktastic (awesome word NSP). And it's really sad that it's nothing like what Dragonball was.

The more I see the more I know it's going to be bad... but the more I see the more it becomes like those made for TV disaster mini-series, like 10.5 apocalypse and category 7.... I want to see it (as long as I can convince myself it's -not- dragonball, just another movie that looks cheesey), just b/c of how bad it is, and laugh. (does that make sense). Of course that will have to wait until it reaches the $1 cinema by me. yay for $1 cinemas. :P

I personally am looking forward to Dragonball's release, if only just to own it on the sequel to the "100 Best Sci-Fi Films" DVD collection that I have. Just thinking about the Dragonball movie right next to other such classics like "The Wild Women of Wongo", "Laser Mission" and "Horrors of Spider Island" gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

I've known about this for awhile, and its been horrible from the git-go. I'm not sure why they would even bother making a live action if they were not really going to try? I wish I still had all the links. I remember reading about how Toriyama thought it was going to suck. I can't wait for the live action Cowboy Bebop with Keanu and the rest of the upcoming hollywood anime remakes.

Besides the fact that he's a terrible actor, he's 44 yrs. old - heck, he's too old to play Jet.
But hey, I've been called a "hater" before (okay..often). Apparently, I don't appreciate the nuances that define Keynu-nu's wide range of thespian expressiveness.

for lack of better words, funimation isn't too thrilled about the outcome either and wants nothing to do with the live-action.
