MLP cels

ok, so i was being all nostalgic and going through some My Little Pony episodes on youtube and i ran accross my all time favorite movie when i was a little kid (man i cant believe i forgot all about it). i had a beta of it (oh no not VHS,... a BETA of it ... omgosh LOL) and i ran that thing to death watching this movie over and over and over again. but i LOVED it and the animation is still some of the best ive ever seen.

the name of the movie is "my little pony, rescue from midnight castle".

anyone ever seen any cels come up for sale (or in anyone's gallery?). i know its quite old but i just cant believe that not even a single cel survived from back then ( or even from the 80's show itself?). there's got to be something.
i have seen some from commercials come up but thats about it.

i think that you, me, and everyone else who collects mlp would love cels from "midnight castle", haha.

the closest i've seen, are model cels of "windy" the rainbow pony, who appears in a marvel-produced trailer on the ova for "midnight castle".

i have some dream castle commercial cels and pony wear cels for sale, if you are interested.

Though if this the movie with the dude with the bag that shoots out black stuff (If you want, I made a VHS to DVD transfer of it if you want a copy), I know cels from that movie are highly sought after by MLP collectors.

haha, yeah marvel's vision defined the way i remember ponies and dream valley. the cel of windy was actually in a rubberslug gallery for a while, and i tried to make an offer several times. then, one day, poof gone. i can't remember who the owner was.

oh YES! thank you! i still have the beta, i think, of it but we dont have a beta machine anymore (darn sucker weighed a ton and my mom just chucked it b/c it was taking up space in her closet... cant really blame her though).

heh, its funny, even after how long its been since i last saw that movie i still get a big kick outa it. lol
even the little musicals are pretty cool still to me.

Oh that was a great movie!!

However it is on DVD already. If you buy the first season of MLP on dvd the movie is on there.

in a nutshell: marvel produced the first 2 ova's for my little pony, a trailer, and the rainbow ponies commercial. "rescue from midnight castle" aka "firefly's adventure", and "escape from catrina" which introduces the baby ponies. their animation was done at toei. marvel continued work on the 1986 series, and the movie, but only as a co-production with sunbow. so the ponies looked a little different the second time around.

i might google some info about the show. its like one of my all time fav's and i know nothing about it (i was all crazy into em when i was a kid... seriously now that im an adult i feel sorry for my mom b/c she would constantly be taking me to toys-r-us and be buying me the dollhouses for em and every pony on the shelf . lol
no wonder she had to declare bankruptcy when i graduated highschool ).
