A change of tune for me - Any other artist out there?

Post by chibikitty2045 »

Between work and home I finally have some time for me, thanks to the snow storm we are having. What I want to ask is, are there any other artist out there?

I've seen RS galleries with their artwork and Love it! But never had the courage to ask anyone about their art (I know, Im a total weirdo :P )

Do you have a deviant art gallery? any other websites?

I dont have any artwork besides the CG in my gallery.
Anyone ever get their work published?

I personally love to draw doujins of my fave characters (Hellsing and FFXII)

Just a little light note for my day off 8)

I guess I can draw well at some level....I'm good with Charcoal and oil paint....not as well as on paper since it sort of looks flat....But then again with the oil and charcoal it took like 3 hours to draw and so forth, on paper I just draw something and after like 5 secs it's down....(yeah I'm weird that way)
-But when I was losing my eye sight I could not practice as much (but yeah I had laser surgery and it's sort of better ^_^)

I guess I should raw more.....

Omg! 8O I have always wanted to learn how to draw BGs and Animate!
I am actually thinking about attending school when I get transferred to a permanent local in NY for work.

I will update some of my doujin pages in a few days.

I am good with charcoal, but oils have always eluded me lol.
I am good with pencil, inking, airbrush, marker and CG.
LOL Thats awesome that you can draw that fast! It takes me.....hours for even a sketch.
I'm glad that your vision is better and hopefully will continue to do so.

I hope to someday be able to publish a few of my works, even if its fan made

Thats so cool! :D Since I watch both nick and cn alot, i've more than likely seen your work on television. Do you have a favorite show you worked on?

I'm more of an artist in training than a full-fledged artist. Although I have got paying commissions before for a few paintings...I suppose in that sense i'm a artist. Yeah. If your paying me, I'll totally say i'm professional awesome artist. :P

I do have a deviantart page: http://penguinton.deviantart.com/

Fun topic Chibikitty! It is nice to see everyone's art! :hello

I enjoy drawing manga style, painting and photography (in that order). I also do mixed media using washi (Japanese paper) and canvas.

At the very bottom of my RS gallery is a small display of some of my manga related art http://redeye.rubberslug.com

I also have a Deviant Art gallery that features photography at the moment http://kurodaiya.deviantart.com and repeats of RS.

I have always been a little shy about about sharing my art, and I'm not sure if I'll ever be comfortable calling myself an artist, but I do love to create art!

Over the last year I have been learning the technical aspects of drawing manga. It isn't easy and not so fun, especially when you have to re-draw 1 layout page 3 times, or cut out half of the original dialog from a manga script. Fortunately, I've been lucky to have guidance through the process, but I think it will be awhile before I have anything decent enough to submit.

i wish i could draw bgs and animate too, lol, but i don't draw layout. my bg experience is digital painting. animation is an honorable skill and i find that while anyone can learn the technical aspects, it takes true talent to capture a character.

my favorite show that i have worked on... i have to say, my own project. :emb you may have seen my bgs on nick's "the x's" (now on nicktoons), and eric robles snuck a caricature of me in there somewhere. i am currently on cn's "hero: 108"... best show ever. watch it in spring!! (shamless)... my favorite part of working in animation is watching your characters or friend's characters come to life. seeing all of the hard work and sleepless nights pay off. the free soda isn't bad either. :P

I have always loved to draw as a hobby. :) I'm not super good at it, but I find it relaxing. I think I love to color my own and other people's drawings more though. ^_^; I also make my own cosplay costumes...

I'm also a professional photographer (I work for a large volume studio). I have a little bit of my personal stuff here:

Should make an actual gallery one of these, I never got any of my artistic photo projects online. n.n;

Woah! that is totally killer xD
I am finding out that there are many components to making manga....and I am basically at the first step...Paper to pencil :P I purchased my first set of copic markers.....and at $5 each they are worth it lol.

As I look at the manga books in barnes and noble, I see that some rush through the process, while others only stick to one thing. It will take me a while but I am still having fun and as long as I am doing that its worth it lol

Now that is an awesome skill that I will never be able to learn. I have the skill to sew, like an ostrich flying xD I have a friend who tried to help me learn cosplay. I sewed the arms together and called it quits LOL

Its cool that there are so many artists here on AB!

Right now I am majoring in illustration at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Its really exciting because I am finally just starting to get into the classes for my major. I want to write and illustrate children's books - if I could make money with it, that would be my dream. I really want my art to serve a narrative purpose. We'll see what happens when it is time for me to graduate.

I have a deviant art page but most if it is stuff from high school and a couple things I did two years ago:

http://toonybabe.deviantart.com

I have a lot of recent stuff just lying around. When this semester is over I can't wait to scan it all and create a blog. CCAD is helping all of their students to set up online portfolios through their site, so I am excited about that as well.

I am starting to get really nervous about my future, especially with the way the economy has turned. I am prepared to teach art and freelance if I have to.

After graduating college with an art degree, it took me two years to get the job I have now. I worked freelance inbetween that time, which helped establish some experience and portfolio work. :) Definitely not a bad way to make some extra money too...

toonybabe: Your art is really pretty, I enjoyed looking through your gallery. :)

Yes, I enjoyed looking through it as well. I love the drawing of Jake especially. Very vibrant and a great expression on his face.

Wow, Dedication to the art field, I will get there soon! But :yourock:
