Facebook-retarded...

Post by Caroline »

i just joined facebook for networking, but it doesn't seem to be a very user friendly website. are there ways to do the following...? :?

view my profile as others see it?

create personal profile design?
(it won't take html in the info section?)

add images to my profile?

create a www.facebook.com/myname url?

sorry, i know these are really pointless questions, but i am facebook-retarded. i'd appreciate help from any facebook users!

Only just? Did you experience peer pressure?

1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

It's definitely not as user friendly as myspace. It actually kind of annoys me, so I don't sign on every day.

As far as I know, you can't really "design" your profile, and I'm not sure about using code.

Most of my friends who are not on myspace are on facebook, so it's a nice way to stay in touch, but all it seems to be good for is throwing snowballs at your friends and getting drinks sent to you.

I really don't have the time to play the games on facebook. :?

Here's mine:

I still really haven't figured it out either...

Facebook is a great way to continue contact with people who you already know. I definitely use it to keep track of folks that I knew in high school and undergrad, many of whom have moved far away. They're not people that I would "chat" with, but it is a way for me to easily see where they're living and what they're doing with their lives. I like it because it ISN'T able to be personalized like MySpace. Every time I visit MySpace my eyes bleed. Too many ads. Too many garish colors. Too many annoying midis playing in the background. Facebook has a clean, professional feel to it.

facebook has just changed its whole set up and everyone is begging for the old one to come back, including me. I have both facebook and myspace only because I move alot and my friends have one or the other.
Myspace comes with alot more virus, torjan cookie things but you have more freedom on it than facebook

I like Facebook more than Myspace, but probably because I started to use it before Myspace. Also most of my friends use it. I like how it is more organized and I like some of the features (posted items, notes, groups and *some* of the applications). I think it lends itself much better to networking than Myspace does.

Here is a link to my profile:

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profi ... ef=profile

Its private so you would have to request me as a friend.

Haha and I'm also one of the those odd people that like the new facebook better than the old.

Facebook has been weird for me. Since I joined I have gotten in touch with a high school girlfriend, a friend from grade school, and my cousin in Australia. It's true that it is not the most user friendly setup ever, but it has its benefits.

I hate facebook and Twitter............... but I have both. Actually, social networking in general I hate (no offence meant to people who like social networking though).

I mainly keep them in case someone wants to see if I am alive or not. Other than that, I log in maybe once every 3 months and that is it.

It is amazing though who looks you up on that thing.

I've had it a long time and never go there unless someone wants me as a "friend." It's mostly people I already know. One former high school classmate found me. But I don't get its appeal, frankly. Maybe that's 'cuz I'm old.

I have Twitter, too, and unless you have hours to spend checking all those URLs and reading all the tweets, I think it's - not quite, but almost - totally useless. X|

MySpace - my son got charged with something when his probation officer saw what he had on his MySpace page, so I took his down, and I don't ever want to have it!!
