(From ANN:) ----- The manga creator Takuya Fujima has announced in a Tuesday blog entry that a television anime adaptation of the Weiss Survive card game manga has been green-lit. The story follows the main characters Takeshi and Michi as they get lost in the Card Battle world and have to win card battles to return home. Nobuhisa Nakamoto will voice the hero Takeshi, and Izumi Kitta will play the heroine Michi. The color manga runs Bushiroad's trading card game magazine, while the Japanese station TBS will premiere the 16 anime shorts in June. The shorts, which will run about 150 seconds in length, will be part of the Card Gakuen card-game-tutorial television program at 25:25 on Fridays (effectively 1:25 a.m. on Saturday mornings). Nana Mizuki sings the opening theme song of Card Gakuen.

(From ANN April 28, 2009): ----- Voice actress Aya Hirano revealed in a Sunday blog entry that she is recording a voice for the anime adaption of Hisaki Matsuura's "Kawa no Hikari" (River's Light) ecological novel. Hirano will play a puppy in the anime, which the NHK public broadcaster will air on June 20. The story centers on a family of common rats who lost their home to human construction. The rats go upstream on a river in search of a new peaceful home.

(From ANN): ----- Umi Monogatari, the pachinko line that its Sanyo Bussan manufacturer describes as the most popular in Japan, has a television anime spinoff green-lit for this summer. Juunichi Sato will direct this "magical maiden fantasy". The "transforming magical girl action" story centers on Marin and Urin, two "pure" sisters who live alongside the fish in the sea, but yearn to be in the world beyond the water and above ground. One day, a beautiful ring falls in the middle of the sea, and Marin and Urin retrieve it. The two decide to leave their waterbound world for the first time to deliver the ring. After an arduous journey, they come across an isolated island where a high school girl named Kanon lives. The encounter between Marin and Kanon — the maiden of the sea and the maiden of the skies — awakens a hidden power as the world is threatened by an enveloping darkness.

(From ANN Nov 3, 2008:) ----- Manga creator Bow Ditama has confirmed at France's Chibi Japan Expo this past weekend that his "Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!!" science-fiction comedy manga will be animated for release in Japan in summer 2009. The story revolves around Puragu or Juuden-chan, a mysterious office lady (OL) who came to our world from a parallel world to "charge" up dejected people. Ditama previously drew the art for Bunjuro Nakayama's Mahoromatic manga and created the Kiss x sis manga.

The character designs are easy to recognize.

(From ANN March 18, 2009:) ----- A new series for the anime adaptation of Ann Gutman and Georg Hallensleben's Penelope picture books was announced at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2009 on Wednesday. The NHK public broadcaster's NHK-Educational channel will air the program. The European picture books recount the adventures of a naive three-year-old blue koala and her friends.

(From ANN:) ----- Umineko no Naku Koro ni takes place in the year 1986, during the time frame of October 4 and October 5 on a secluded island named Rokkenjima. The head of a wealthy family named Kinzo Ushiromiya, who lives on and owns Rokkenjima, is near death, and eight of his family members arrive on the island to discuss how Kinzo's assets will be divided once he is dead. Also on the island are three family members who live there, five of Kinzo's servants, and his personal physician. After the eight family members arrive, a typhoon traps them on the island and shortly after people start to get mysteriously murdered.

I watched La Corda D'Oro ~secondo passo~ episode 2 last week. While I was happy to see more La Corda, I was highly disappointed in this OVA. If they make more, I hope it's a better storyline.

I'm very interested in Umineko no Naku Koro ni though.
