I'll give an update to the categories tonight before I head off to bed.

As of 10:20 a, all but 1 of the entries have been approved, and that's only due to a technical issue.

Be advised that if we do find an issue(ie. the animated file isn't animated), we'll let you know through the summerbetaawards09 email. If you filter everything, you might want to enable your email service to receive ours. The system also automatically generates an email when your entries have been approved as well.

I think we're up to 7 entrants, so there's a lot of room for more.

All uploaded and accounted for, cheers. I spent a couple of days trawling through my collections and scanned a couple of new goodies as I often do for these Awards. These unique unveilings help make it fun ^__^

If I submit an entry in a category that will be canceled because it is under 5 entries, will I be able to submit an entry in another category instead?

Looking at the entry numbers this early, it's hard to say how many will make it and how many will be cut. In the poll, 36 people + a few indicated they would participate in the awards, and today is only day one. 23 have entered so far.

I would suggest that perhaps the number of required entries to keep a category be reconsidered and perhaps lowered to 3 or 4 if a large number of categories stand to be eliminated. But that's just my thought.

I could always enter a few more, they wouldnt necessarily be award quality but they could bump up some of the numbers? If this is wanted i'm more than happy to.

No, we typically limit the amount to five standard entries due to the amount of entrants we have. Every year seems to have more and more participants, and, at least in the combined awards, I can't recall any time where a category was eliminated.

But yes, to answer Frosty's question, if you happen to have submitted to a category that will be eliminated due to too few entries, you will be allowed to submit another.

Well, we're closing out the first full day of submission and what a great day it was. So many wonderful pieces were submitted and I'm sure the next two days will bring even more.
