Where I've been

Post by blueheaven »

For those who care, I'll be back occasionally from now on. I haven't posted much in the past six months. I blew off AX and ComicCon as well. The reason is, I've been saving up to buy a house. I put in a bid on a short sale on August 16th, and I close on October 16th. It is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 1350 sqft. home with a small pool. I paid about half of what the last buyer bought it for, plus I am getting an $8000 first-time homebuyer tax credit. Hopefully, I'll be moved in by the end of October. Here is a picture of the house. Take care all, hope everyone is doing well.

Actually I have no feelings. But I am functioning within normal parameters.

I've been doing great. Haven't been really sick at all except for some bad food choices. Thanks for asking. How have you been?

I'm glad to hear someone is taking advantage of the buyer's housing market especially where you are, blueheaven. Congrats on a sweet deal! :)

Yeah, I definitely realize just how lucky I am to have an opportunity like this with the shape the economy is in. I am very thankful for my job, because otherwise I would not even dream of owning a home right now. I feel bad for those who are having their home foreclosed upon. The house I am buying right now belonged to a friend who moved out of state. They paid $300K for it, and I am paying nearly half that. But, it will settle their mortgage with the banks.

Wow, you'd be paying the equivilent of $500K for something like that in the UK so yeah I won't be buying soon. Good on you though Bluehaven I hope it goes well for you!
