What is your favorite American animated show?

I have seen many good American animated shows with in the last five years or so and even some good ones in the 90's. I am wondering what some of my fellow anime fans think of the US animation and what their favorites are.

There are lots of shows that I love.

My favorites are The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin (technically Canadian animation, as are a lot of western animated shows) and Avatar the Last Airbender, but also love most of the DC stuff (Batman TAS, Justice League and JL Unlimited, Static Shock, etc), Tiny Toon Adventures, and Animaniacs/Pinky and the Brain, Pirates of Dark Water, Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates, Bucky O'hare and the Toad Wars, Mighty Max, Dungeons and Dragons, Danny Phantom, Fairly Odd Parents, Power Puff Girls, Samurai Jack, Disny's Gummi Bears, Gargoyles, Duck Tales, Talespin, Darkwing Duck, Chip n Dale's Rescue Rangers, and so on and so forth...

I remember earlier this year making a rant about how American shows aimed at younger audiences are going down the toilet in terms of quality and smart writing. But there are a few current series that managed to prove me wrong:

phineas and ferb - wonderful series imo. The songs are really catchy.
spectacular spiderman - and here I thought superhero shows(especially dc ones) were getting worse. This series managed to prove me wrong.
Worverine & the xmen
Avatar the last airbender
Iron-man armored adventures
Mr men show
Kim Possible
Danny Phantom/Fairly oddparents

As for the old series...well there's too many to list

I am really impressed by what I have seen in recent years on Nick Toons. Wolverine and the Xmen, Avatar, and Iron Man. Disney XD is also another channel with Gargoyles Xmen, Xmen Evo, Jackie Chain Adv., spiderman and Static Shock. One I would like to see again is Shaolin Showdown. I think that was a great little series.

My favorite three cartoons growing up (and still today) were Scooby-Doo, Inpsector Gadget and Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM version). I also liked Rainbow Brite, Looney Tunes and the Nicktoons, especially Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life and Ahhh Real Monsters.

Of the more recent cartoons I really enjoy Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Courage the Cowardly Dog and the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. But they're not really on TV anymore. I'm still waiting for another cartoon to air that I can really get into.

EDIT: Its already been mentioned, but I forgot about Tiny Toon Adventures!

Xmen and Xmen Evolution, disney's Gargoyles, Fantastic four, Spiderman, Avatar TLA, Doug, ummm... and unknown one that you never see or hear about... "the Tick"... that was a really good one too.

oh and Scooby Doo! man how did i forget Scooby...

yes there's seriously nothing NOTHING thats worth looking at apart from Anime.

Some of the Disney animation is in a class by itself, but my two favorite non-Disney animation are Fire and Ice and Invasion America. These two are in a class by themselves also.

I disagree with this statement. Watch the 1st 2 series I listed in my prior post, both of which are currently airing on disney XD. Spectacular spiderman really took me by surprise and I consider the series to be on par with the fox kids edition. As for Phineas and Ferb, well I love this series

. The songs are well done and the premise is simple and entertaining.

I love watching Batman the Animated Series! That show had a superb Art Deco landscape, and all those tommy guns! Kevin Conroy is the best Batman....in my humble opinion of course. Another bonus, Harley Quinn came out of this show!

I also enjoyed Batman: Beyond. I thought it was a great idea to see what the heck happens to Batman.....in the future..... Darwyn Cooke's intro is still one of my favorites!

I think I am going to watch some Batman now......
