We've set up an email account for the 2009 Cel Awards:

animebeta2009(AT)yahoo.ca

If you have user-specific questions, comments or suggestions, please send them to this email address rather than post them on the thread, if at all possible. Awards threads can get very bulky and difficult to navigate through. :hurt:

We are still gathering the team, so questions about deadlines, categories and rules will have to wait a bit. We'll have the answers shortly. :)

Thanks!

How are we supposed to have a community discussion about the awards set-up if all the suggestions go to your e-mail? Just wondering...

We totally agree with you. Sorry about the confusion. X|
We hope to motivate people to use the email address for any user-specific questions or comments (such as individual submission questions). Like previous awards, we encourage discussion to take place in this thread. We'll correct the above post to avoid more confusion. Gomen!

beta awards

Post by Starfighter »

Morning ,

I have sent an e-mail stating I would like to do the voting on the anime beta 2009 awards and for some reason my e-mail never was recieved and there is a full staff for the awards. So I have decided even though I did want to help out I would decline and bow out of it . Better to do it now before it was started.

Thanks again

Award sounds yummy :D

Well... I'm a bit trained about events so if you require assistance, feel free to ask. Fluent in french, english and german (and a bit of chinese) may insure European Q&A or connection with Canada/Quebec if you've members there (as the adress you created is Canadian).

If I'm in the staff, do I still have the right to play the game ?... Or not ?...
(just to avoid possible requests, claims, lobby and so on...). What working load does this represent (in hours) based on previous contests organisations.

Don't know if awards include real prizes or just medals.
I often arranged in the past funny prizes so just ask. Reminds me when I had arranged bubblegums expedition for winners in a "Duke Nukem" event, ha ha :D

In the past, the prizes have been graphics that one could use in their gallery. Since the awards are done pro bono, it would be difficult to give out tangible prizes, especially when you take into account how many categories there are.

I can't speak for the arrangements that this year's staff are doing, but after doing the previous two awards, I can say that it's a time consuming project. This is especially true during the submission period. Granted, Zero's website cut that time in half(at least), but still, going through each submission manually to make sure it fits the criteria does take some time. And, I'm sure that Zero invested a lot of time creating the website that she designed for both awards.
