Gallery For Offer...

Post by jenn-b »

Well, I put this off all week, searching for a better solution. But here I am. I have a certain amount of money that I would like to raise - yes, to purchase more goodies! Once I reach that goal, the offer period will be over. I am having a difficult time deciding what to part with, so I'm leaving the decision to the masses.

The last time that I opened my gallery for offers, I posted what I would absolutely NOT put up with. Here is just a brief run-down:
Do not think that you can take advantage of the situation with an extremely low offer. I will definitely not accept it...and I may not even bother replying. During my last offer/sale period, some of you out there were exceptionally rude. I did not publicly call you out, but this time I will. I have absolutely NO patience for your shenanigans.

At the same time, I do not want you to fear contacting me - I'm really not THAT mean. If you have a genuine question or honestly do not know how to price an item, I am more than happy to guide you.
I think that I have something new to add to that, thank to issues that some of you have had recently. Do not write to me asking for a price and then proceed to respond with a fraction of what I have quoted you. While you may not agree with what I paid for a piece, I will NOT sell any of my gems at a "cut cost" just because you think you can get away with it.

Yes, just about everything normally showing in my gallery is still showing. But that does not mean that I am willing to part with everything. Just ask, I'd be more than happy to let you know about what you are look at.

Soooooo...here we go:

May you please be kind to put your quotations on the two following items as separate sales and as a group sale (+ discount) :

I'm sorry, but I honestly have no idea what you are asking me. What, exactly is a "group" sale? And I'm sorry, but neither of those cels would get a discount.

Apologies for my non native english.
Question was relative to prices being possibly reduced by buying a set of multiple artworks.

Price A = http://jenn.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_ ... mID=180150
Price B = http://jenn.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_ ... temID=4250
Price C = (A+B) x possible discount ?

I may easily understand if there are no discount on your sets, this note was just to know if by buying more than an artwork, you may include or not a discount.

That's it. I've had it. I am not a bargain basement. I am not a "discount" shopping center.

I may have paid top dollar for my collection, but do not expect me to happily accept your offer of a fraction of what I paid. This is specifically true for the rare and high ticket series that I collect, which I think that I paid fair prices for. If you were to try to purchase them today, it would most likely be double what I was able to get them for.

If you do not think so, try to purchase them on YJ. Oh wait...you can't. They do not show up on YJ often. Try going to a dealer. Oh wait....they don't have that series anymore.

If you have received a positive *i.e. not super pissed* response from me, this post obviously does not refer to you. But for everyone else that I have responded to, I am done with you. I don't care how "very much you want to add this cel to your collection". Your emails are offensive and I am not putting up with it any more.

I certainly hope that all of the other members of the board do not have to put up with your shenanigans.

If you have a serious offer for me to consider, please do feel free to contact me. If you think that you are going to get my Bleach Ending sketch set of Gin with his eyes open for $150, you can go pound sand *as my dear friend Gonzai would say*.

Sincere apologies if I offended you, but that was not intented, and only a simple question for a grouped items offer. If they are not, please inform me about the separate sale prices.

LMAO - oh how I love your frankness!! :P

I was actually very lucky this time around - thank God!!
I guess its a good thing that I didn't have to deal with
the asshats!!

I guess people don't understand that when you say
you paid $600 for something, its an insult to offer
$300. :?

If you want to make an offer, then offer. Don't ask
someone what they paid for something, and then insult
them with a low ball offer. :tongue

So yep - I say all you asshats can go pound sand!! :hammer

LMAO! You guys are so hilarious! I can personally understand where you guys are coming from. I especially get this on Ebay. I have a cel up for $600 and they offer $50. I am nice and say $550 counter offer" before declining, they turn around and give me a counteroffer of $75.

Or what's even more fun is when they counteroffer with a lecture of how overpriced your artwork is. I love that one. "It's not worth that....it's worth THIS". Yeah...ok..... :ok:

I think where people get things wrong is when someone on ebay is just selling a bunch of stuff just to get quick cash or just getting out of the hobby and they don't care about price. I think that throws things off a lot. Or when they see a character like Gin for $100 and think that most of his cels are worth that much not thinking of the significates of the cel. Kind of like seeing a SSJ2 Gohan for the Cell Games Saga and because you have seen an SS Gohan at $100 they are all worth $100. Now for me if I don't know what a cel is worth I usually ask the seller how much they would be willing to take for it and make an offer based on that. For example Jenn has a Yoko Kurama cel. I have seen them for $200 on YJ. However she has the Bang Yoko a much higher priced piece and one that has been reproduced. To me that cel would be worth in the range of $400-$800 or higher depending on how much she paid for it.

You can't always expect everyone to realise whether their offer is good or not. Cel pricing is difficult, especially when you are new to a series, or new to cels in general, like Iceman57. As a seller, if you receive an offer that is far below what you paid for a given cel, then I suggest you decline politely and explain what the problem is, instead of being rude. That never helps. I don't know many people on this board but from now on I will certainly refrain from making offers to some of you guys, when I see to rage of interance you can go to just because you received an email whose content you were not satisfied with. I would be afraid of receiving a rude answer, and a cel is not worth it. Of course there is the occasional guy who makes a very low offer on purpose, just to try his luck, and that one certainly is an "asshat", but there are also honest people who are just not aware of the value of some cels.

You're missing the point. Jenn (and the rest of us_ arn't frustrated with low offers. We're frustrated with low offers that come AFTER we tell them what we paid for the item. Talk about rude. That's the definition of it. It's an insult to any collector. :x

Good luck with the sales Jenn.

This is not true. If I had gotten an offer that was on the low end, I would have been more than happy to guide the person. As a matter of fact, in my whole offer period, only one person - ONE - sent an actual offer. Everyone else asked me what price I would sell the pieces for. I responded with the appropriate price, to which I was promptly offered a fraction of my price.

This has nothing to do with an uninformed person making an offer, or even asking the price. I don't mind that. I do mind you getting the price and then thinking that I am so desparate that when you offer half, I'm going to jump at it. That is truly offensive. And the number of people that actually did that this time around....I'm just shocked.

So...to sum up...my "rage" has absolutely nothing to do with the uninformed collector. It has to do with those of you who think that you can take advantage of a situation. If THAT turns you off Olivier, so be it.
