Is this mold...?

For the n00bs of cel collecting and production art . . . and for some of us old-timers, too. Post your questions on anything that puzzles you.

Is this mold...?

Post by kathpatty »

Just curious, not to be insulting if it is someones item...
I know I have small whitish areas on a few of mine, usually several layer cels. But not like this (enlarge)

looks more like dried water drops on the cel bag. Mold would be more solid.

Have to love the mismatched description from the title :P
"Like the wind crying endlessly through the universe, Time carries away the names and the deeds of conquerors and commoners alike. And all that we are, all that remains, is in the memories of those who cared we came this way for a brief moment." Harlan Ellison

ok...

and then :
"The previous owner has kept this cel in poor condition but the cel is in excellent shape with minimal line fading common to the age of the series."

So if every problem come from the bag, why didn't the new owner remove this crappy plastic bag ? :D :D :D

Sorry for the poor scan T_T

the cel was sealed in a cel bag and I generally never remove them unless absolutely necessary. Its on the cel bag the original owner placed it in. I opened the bag to make sure it wasnt on the cel itself. and seeing that it wasnt, never touched it afterwards, so the water spots showed up on the scanner.

The previous owner took their collection out into the rain in a haste to get rid of them, but I never had time to even look at them till I began listing them.

If you want a clearer/cleaner pic, I can take it out when I get back to Maria's house with the other cels.
