Well...

Everything is ready on our end. :dban :dban

We were waiting to upload the site until we heard back from MidniteKitten (this year's awards designer).

The awards she designed for this year's contest are really great... we just haven't received them yet. :bawl

I hope that MidniteKitten sends the awards soon. She has been around here posting on threads last night on Anime-Beta so hopefully she gets the awards to you soon. ^_^

What about announcing the results, even though the winners won't be able to download their respective awards until a bit later? I am really curious to know who won and we are already 3 days late on the planned schedule.

I like Olivier's suggestion. Just as a stopgap until the trophies are uploaded later.

Well... we have two options to propose at this point: /ic

1) Midnite has agreed to provide us with her most up-to-date award files. We can finish the work that she started sooner than she would be able to finish it herself (by tomorrow at the latest, assuming everything goes according to plan). This would put us no more than 4 days behind schedule.

2) We could put the site up now and upload the awards download page at a later date (by January 2nd according to what Midnite told us). This option would cut our workload significantly, but the awards would not be displayed anywhere on the site (which would be a shame, since Midnite worked so hard on them).

We are open to implementing either one, depending on what the participants would prefer. We would like to wait until this evening to make a decision, so we can get more feedback from the community.

Thanks! :)

Edit: We'll prepare option 2 right away, and if we get enough feedback this morning, we could upload it as early as this afternoon.

I'm for displaying the winners now, without the awards.

Agreed. Plus, this gives MK the chance to finish her own work ;).

Please display the winners now. ^_^ I'd just fear something else would come up to delay them even further, and I'd like to see the '09 winners before '10. Thank you!!!! :)

I agree with cutiebunny!
I also would like to see the winners before 2010.

And I am looking forward to see the awards that MidniteKitten worked so hard on and I am looking forward to see them soon as she finished. ^_^

I think it would be wise to announce the winners. I think the community is anxious (and understandably so) and excited about it that the other reasons to delay becomes secondary. Thanks however for everyone's hard work.
