Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I have not gotten so addicted to watching any show at all in years. It's wonderful.

Wow I just went back and read over the older replies...

I'm kinda surprised Futurama didn't really seem to make people's lists. That's definitely one of my favorites. I guess I would also add Teen Titans and Rocko's Modern Life, although Avatar is really by far my favorite.

I've probably seen more Nick Toons than any other type of American cartoon though. I spent about 10 years utterly glued to Nickelodeon, heh.

Isn't Avatar a co-French project? I remember when the show was in production that someone mentioned to me that the storyboards were sent over to the US for approval.

Thanks to that person, I was able to get a few copy storyboards :)

I have no idea! I'm definitely no expert on the show, I just really enjoyed watching it. Since it aired on Nickelodeon I considered it an American show. I realize they also have aired non-American shows (I'm almost positive I saw some of Nausica on that station back in the eighties...) but when I watch it online it usually has the Nickelodeon logo on it, so I assumed that meant it was actually made for the station. I could be going on completely wrong assumptions, the only thing I will stand by is that its a really good show, heh.

Your copy story boards is the first I've ever heard of someone having art from it (it doesn't look like anyone on Rubberslug does anyway...?) Do you know of anyone else who has production materials from it?? I'd love you see some (yours and any anything else you know of.) The whole time I was watching it I kept thinking 'wow there are so many good frames, I wish I could collect this.' The character's faces were just so expressive and made of win. ^__^

One more thing!! This is just a question....

When I was a kid I was really into the Tintin books (not sure where to call them comics or graphic novels or what.) I also liked to watch the animated version which aired on Nickelodeon.

I know the comics are from Belgium, but I was wondering who made the animated show? I have absolutely no idea what country that came from. Was it originally made in French, or did the US just make it as an adaptation?

Anyone ever see any production art from that??? I'm curious! I've never actually looked before. Doing a quick search on Rubberslug I saw one single cel. Anyone else got some?

Sorry to go off on a tangent, heh. I just thought of it when the origins of Avatar were questioned, made me start thinking about stuff I'd watch on Nick.

Also? I'm not sure if I would like that. I like to watch Star Trek on TV.

When I received them, I was told that I could not publically show them.

Though, now that the show is long over, perhaps I should send an email off and ask if it would be ok to show them.

I thought the animation was done in France because it mimicks the style that a French animation studios produced. I'd be willing to venture that it came out of the same animation company who produced W.I.T.C.H(very popular in Europe in 2006) & Totally Spies.

TV series made by Ellipse studio in Canada and dubbed in several languages.
They were some nice mid-60s ones from the movies (temple of the sun) in an auction in Paris Drouot in October 2009. Regarding 90s cels, rare to find.
