Standard Bags

I've already done a search, and most of the links were outdated.

Baically, I need to replenish my supply of self-adhesive, standard sized poly cel bags like, now. The website I used to buy them from all the time has 'disappeared'. Does anyone have any suggestions of where or from whom I can buy some from. I really appreciate it.

I have some in the B4 size(the type that fit most standard backgrounds/cels) but they're a bit longer than the standard, A4L size that most cels are. I have both adhesive and non adhesive baggies.

Go to any comic polybag retailer and look for "Life magazine size" (size almost A3, can hold almost any standard background) bags. Standard cels without backgrounds fit perfectly if you turn them 90 degrees and then you can fold down the other half of the bag. Backgrounded cels fit well going in regularly. I've found that with "perfect" sized bags, a lot of times the fit was very tight and it didn't make any room for slightly oversized or cels with the paper stuck at an odd angle. I prefer a slightly larger bag that I can always fold down if I need to. (back when I collected comics regularly I had the same issue with standard sized bags - a lot of times they were just too tight, so I started buying silver age bags for all my comics). Added, bonus, they're cheap and plentiful and a lot of times you can just walk into a local comic store and buy them off the shelves.

I'm gonna double on what jcaliff said. I buy my bags from a comic book bag retail site. I buy the life magazine size as well, it's sized 10x13 which is perfect for average sized cels and even some slightly oversized.

The brand I buy is "Ultra Pro". I got 100bags for 10$, so it's definitely worth a look into a local retailer

can someone please tell me what the sizes mean (A4, etc) like, how many inches they are wide by accross?

Hi, lol i just posted this on another "looking for bags" request but this place has a lot of different sizes they ship the bags flat to avoid creases, you have to ask for that though. http://heikoinc.com/_cmx/cmx_store/prod ... goryID=300

Note that Japanese A sizes are ISO A sizes, but the B sizes are different.

Also, near the bottom of the page is information on traditional Japanese paper sizes.

I can give Bags Unlimited a strong endorsement. The site was easy to use, and the bags came quickly and are fine quality.

The "Life Magazine Bags" I got are described as being 10 7/8 x 14 1/4 x 1.5 mil in size. That's just big enough for a standard sized cel to fit in long size first. For oversized cels, you just put the short side in first. A standard background just fits exactly, with enough space to fold the end over and seal it.

A bag of 100 cost $16.80, shipping was free, went out via UPS the next day, and I got a tracking number. Mine were polypropylene, but you can get polyurethane bags too if you prefer.

I used to get bags from Light Impressions, but recently that concern has become more and more unreliable: items show up as "out of stock" -- after you order, not before -- and then remain out of stock for months at a time. Thankfully, they don't charge your credit card until the order ships, but I don't like how they keep sending me spam mail about special offers but then don't actually have any of it in stock. Then they send it out one bit at a time, socking you for shipping and handling for each part of the order, instead of waiting and consolidating the order. I doubt I'll deal with them again.

Like the range an other materials from the site, so far only order the bags an nothing else.
