Looking for LARGE cel bags (at least 16x24)

For the n00bs of cel collecting and production art . . . and for some of us old-timers, too. Post your questions on anything that puzzles you.

Looking for LARGE cel bags (at least 16x24)

Post by MidniteKitten »

So after 2 very negative experiences trying to purchase bags sized 16x24 from 2 different sellers and receiving them folded a million times to fit into a priority mail flat rate envelope thus being crumpled, damaged, and just plain unusable I thought I'd try here again. I need bags that are at least sized 16x24 to fit my oversized artwork. So if anyone has some for buying or knows where I can purchase them (shipped flat!!) then I'd greatly appreciate it! I only need about 10-15, 10 being the minimum, and 15 being a nice backup for future artwork ;)

Thank you!

Have you tried contacting a private company, such as TAP Plastics, to make some bags for you? A lot of plastics companies will make items to a customer's specifications(although, it might not be cheap).

I'm sorry I can't help you with the larger size. The largest free-standing bags I've ever seen are the B4L size, and that is not large enough to accomidate a 16x24 sized piece of artwork. I'm also sorry to hear that you've had bad experiences with shipping - I've always shipped my bags/folders flat. If I purchased bags, I'd want them to look nice too.

I didn't even know asking the plastic companies was a possibility! But thank you for the tip.

Don't worry bout' not having any, you've been a great help multiple times ;) while I've seen bags in this size its just getting someone to ship it flat that's the problem...as shipping something that large drives shipping up.

Thank you for your help!

I just ordered some big bags from Bags Unlimited. Here is a link to some of their bigger poly bags:

They shipped them flat too (it was a huge cardboard box flattened out and taped together on all the sides). I hope this helps!

I second that! Have ordered from them a few times and the bags come uncreased. They have one of the largest inventory of archival quality bags at competitive prices!

I get all my bags from Heiko, http://heikoinc.com/_cmx/cmx_store/prod ... goryID=300 they have many sizes and if you ask them to ship them flat they will do that. In fact one time they called me (they are based in Hawaii and I am in CA) and they asked if I would mind if the bags were folded. They are a little expensive but they have great items and their service has been great also.
