Seems that pictures in the gallery on the site left side are 5 years old (slugfest) , any way to improve the content with most recent pictures or random pictures ?

Yup, there sure is. By adding more. :) The panel actually is random. It cycles through all of the pictures (cel scans, artwork, and photos). Adding more pictures means more variety on the portal!
