LOL! It's so funny you posted this because I stumbled across that auction the other day and when I first saw the thumbnail, I was like, "who is that creepy old lady standing next to the cel?" and when I opened up the auction, saw it was some heinous horror hag doll.

( wishlist cels to all those who get the 'hag' reference :) )

That's what I was referring to. It's not Shere Khan who's scary there. :D

I just sent the lister a message:
That's actually a pretty nice cel of Shere Khan, but , lol, that is one hideous old lady thing next to it. I think you'd have a better chance of selling that cel if you retook a picture without that creepy thing and its souless eyes staring at potential buyers.

Hey you guys don't need to make fun of my grandmother's sister's aunt's cousin's twice removed transsexual brother. Be nice, oh what that's not him. Never mind that is pretty damn funny :crazy

Actually, it might be a good selling strategy, as I'm sure it's making people browsing the thumbnails look twice!

Haha, maybe. But the cel looks like it actually might be a fairly decent cel. The picture doesn't give you a good shot of it. Instead, it seems almost focused on that horrid granny doll.

I have to agree on both counts. LOL The doll is probably making people click on the auction to satisfy their "WTF??" curiosity.... But anyone who would put that kind of money down on a cel would want to see it a lot closer than that auction picture allows. Especially potential damage from it being framed. (Since I'm pretty sure Disney was already using photocopied lines by the time Jungle Book rolled around, though I would have to dust off some reference books to be able to say that with certainty.)

I agree with that, it bothered me you couldn't see the cel better.

Although Ebay's new format of having the auction photos only appear at the top of the page has really been bothering me anyway. Even maximized I don't feel like you ever get a good enough picture. I miss the days when everyone hosted their photos off-site and posted the picture in the item description. Although even when you just had ebay upload the photo I feel like they were bigger pictures when it was formated below.

I still host all of my auction photos on another site just for that reason.

I SERIOUSLY appreciate it when sellers do that.

I’m way more likely to bid if I can see a really good photo anyway.
