Now over the years I have blocked his email , blocked the IP and even changed my email provider and still somehow he find me.

Lets just say even if he added a zero to his offer (last one was $12k) I would rather burn the piece then ever allow it to fall into his hands.
This one is certainly the best story I've ever readed. Maybe he only understand comic's messages, and requires to have a room booked in Arkham Asylum. Reminds me the time when a freak ringed me just because he thought that my vision was not the "right" one about anime cels. My girlfriend was totally scared about freaky collectors able to connect our family. Fortunaly here in old Europe you can refer to your web provider / police anytime as even this was through an internet phone (common here to have internet and phone contract) that still was a telephone... ;)

Coming back on offers aspect, well, if this is formal enough and not a weekly periodic harassing demand, sounds to be correct.

In the eight years I have been collecting, I think I can still count all the unsolicited offers I've received on one hand. :D For the most part, people have been polite about their inquiries. Even the one or two who weren't, I responded back politely.

As someone who has sent politely-worded unsolicited offers to fellow collectors, I must admit that one of my biggest pet peeves is not receiving a reply back. Even something as simple as, "Yeah, isn't this an awesome cel? I'm glad you like it, too. Sorry, but it is not for sale."

I've also received really nice replies back, where the collector will let me know that they have put my name/e-mail in their database as an interested party. I can always hope that they don't forget when they go to sell the piece! :)

I can count how many times I've made unsolicited offers on the fingers of one hand, 3 times. Two I never received a response and the last one I was beat out. I don't make them often because I don't have much luck with them, but I'm always polite.

I've received a few unsolicited offers, I don't mind them I think it's flattering people think that much of my collection. I remember one offer that I countered with a price closer to what I paid and the person was a little put out. But I explained my reason for the counter and that I wouldn't accept an offer that was a 3rd of what I paid. They still didn't like the price and didn't buy, which was fine by me because I get to keep my cel.

There were a couple of times I got unsolicited offers that followed the same pattern:

Polite inquiry if I would sell any number of cels/sketches for what seems like a reasonable price.

After I pare it down to what I would let go and we settle on a price person says they will send a MO.

Week later MO a no show, buyer wants to know where their cels/sketches are. I say in my possession until I get the MO.

They claim they mailed it and it should be there any day. Week goes by still nothing.

Buyer wants to know if it's arrived .... you get the gist, this goes on for a while....

What I don't get is, are they doing this to try and get under my skin - do they get off on that? Or do they think I will send cels off without payment? Either way they are sadly mistaken.

Yes, I'm guilty of unsoliticted inquiries. But I look to see how long ago certain items were posted. Sometimes the gallery states, "My cels are not for sale" but that was back in 2002, time passes and sometimes collectors need money more than the cels, or they are not interested in collecting anymore. So if you received an unsolicited cel inquiry from me and were annoyed, beg pardon, and I really want your FY Tasuki cel!
