You know you've made it big when your images get stolen.

I've found my cel images on some weird Taiwanese forum before. That's why direct linking no longer works on my site.

Were these images split into separate parts and then pieced back together?

Well, whether or not he had to piece them back together ... don't know, since not everyone on RS uses that feature. Plus, I'm guessing not all the images were stolen from RS, I just noticed that many had RS-like file names.

I do think it's great that WordPress takes copyright infringement so seriously. I have to tip my hat to them for their speed.

For me I can't say anyone has stolen my images, but I have seen people sell their items and never take the image off their site, and when I get it a year or two later and put it on mine there are now two. It does not bother me because I like to see the origins of where my cels come from. However, what that guy did is just dunk.

I show the full size images in my gallery, so the guy just went through and saved them.

I don't mind people saving the images for themselves but mass uploading them onto another website takes the biscuit lol!

He had tons of my stuff including Riding Bean, Gunsmith Cats, BGC, Cowboy Bebop, Ranma, Gunnm... both flattering and annoying I guess.

Thanks to Diabolo for the email yesterday alerting me to the problem. Good to see a website take notice of a complaint so quickly too.

Me neither, does this mean I'm collecting crap and noone interested to hack my ressource files ?!

I don't think any of my images have ever been stolen - but I was chuffed to pieces when I found my site pop up on a couple of foreign forums with people posting about the content - that was what really made me think that perhaps I did actually have some good pieces and not just a load of low end $5 shots! ^_^

It's good to see these sort of people get what's coming to them though - scanning and editing the cels takes a huge amount of time and effort; and that should be respected. I've got nothing against people using images with permission - but not without, it's stealing plain and simple.

The images that they had of mine were quite obvious, what with the "Jenn's Cel Gallery" mark and all! At least try to edit that out if you're going to use them. Duh.

Heh...I have a cel that still appears in two different RS galleries. It is kinda interesting to see an actual trail of how things tend to cycle around in the same community.

Well I think that we should all thank Diabolo & Jenn for bringing this to the attention of the community so we could get this person stopped.

I doubt that just 1 or 2 complaining would have got Wordpress to act so quickly on this. Getting so many from all of us in such a short period of time did the trick.

Side-tracking from the main topic a little but . . . this is something I hate. Any time I see my cels in anyone's gallery I always ask for them to be taken down or hidden. I prefer removed completely but have stopped complaining if they are password protected. My cels are special to me and some of that is taken away from me when they can be found just anywhere.
