Huh ?

1. Simply noticed that USA has an interesting soccer team
2. Agreed with the fact that soccer will never reach NFL popularity, hopefully only some percent of its popularity will make it comparable with the amount of European spectators.
3. Estimates that a US player / US team high results in a global competition makes easier to turn a sport popular in the US, like a flag holder or an icon.

I gotta say I died laughing about the knocking over the bicyclists. :rollin Here in Colorado cycling is quite popular on the weekend. People love riding around the mountains. That said I don't see it as a popular spectator sport here in the US. Soccer is the same. Kids love it here while in grade school. The closest most grownups get to it is that they're the "soccer moms". :rollin Pele was popular here in the US in the early 80s, but then it simply died.

Again I say......GO BRONCOS......and curse Bud Adams for selling my Houston Oilers. :tongue

.....GO BRONCOS!!!!
.....GO AVALANCHE!!!!
.....GO ROCKIES!!!!
.....Nuggets suck..... :rollin

Some sports are better for watching, some are better for just playing. For me, soccer's always been the latter. I played something like 10 years from grade school to high school, but I've never really enjoyed watching it. Kinda boring. Baseball's the same way to me, although I like going to the stadium to eat hotdogs and drink beer. :D

Football and basketball are pretty good spectator sports, and that's why more people watch them on tv than soccer.
