When Toshihiro Hirano decided to retell the entire story of Magic Knight Rayearth in a 3-episode OVA, one of the first casualties was narrative continuity. The plot makes no sense whatsoever: but who cares, because the Vampire Princess Miyu feel to the makeover seduces the cel collector into watching on and on in blissed out eye-candy nirvana.

I could never see Umi fall in love with the peevish dwarf Clef in the TV series or the manga. But this cel of his OVA form
