Ok seriously. :puzzled They are bitchin about 2 scribbled yellow
shuusei being stolen? Those are the 1st things that get
tossed by the artist once dougas are completed.
Are you kiddin me? :wow:
Even more so, they can't possibly think the idiot that stole
the drawings will actually send them back-- they wont
risk getting arrested or fined.

Reading thru the article I thought they were talking about
original watercolors or something. Wasn't until re-reading
I noticed that they were correction gengas-- not even
the nice looking ones either just the shuusei.

I don't think its right that anybody stole/walked off w/ exhibit
pieces, but I think the studio is also making a mountain out of
a damn mole hill.. no.. mole mound. Considering they just
torch them after production is done. :?

Reminds me of the policy my co. has, where the artists
are not allowed to take their OWN work home with them
after cataloguing but they get incinerated afterwards and HEY
thats totally cool!

:ok:

If that's all it was then they're definitely going overboard with those announcements. I wonder if someone high up got embarrassed or something.

Hmmmm . . . perhaps all the hubbub is due to them being stolen from an exhibition? Slightly different than a studio worker taking home some "studio presents."

Heh, well, this is Japan, the nation that got several manga raw sites to shut down with a heart-felt letter published in Shounen Jump about how stealing manga hurts the authors' souls. So they may very well think that. :D

There are no copies of these drawings, and Kondo said that these drawings would have been essential for the production of future Bakemonogatari series or related products.
Heh. That means that my possessing the shuusei drawings for the series that I hold prevent the creators of these series from making any future spin-off series or designing action figures or pencil boards based on these sequences. That is POWER!

It recalls when I taught my course on folklore in manga/anime and played an episode of Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne (which incorporated a puppet show based on "Little Red Riding Hood"), I ended by passing around a sketch set from one of the cuts from this episode. One student was shocked.

"Shouldn't the studio have these locked up in some vault?" he demanded.

Shuusei just wanna be free.
