This was also a really creative interesting show. Also on Fox at the same time was Peter Pan and the Pirates, which I enjoyed as well.

Another great cartoon of that era was Mighty Max. Richard Moll was fresh out of Night Court and he was fantastic as Norman. And of course, Rob Paulson who starrted in probably 90% of cartoons series back then was Max.

My sister was a huge fan of Exosquad in the 90s. I liked the rerelease of Robotech toys under the Exosquad name.

Also from the 90s, one of the best shows on PBS was Shari Lewis' Lamb Chop's Play-Along. Even though I was much older than the target audience, Shari Lewis was an amazing performer who didn't talk down to her audience and made the show entertaining for all ages. God, she made Barney look like the insufferable purple dinsosaur he really was. My mom was a huge fan of her from when she was a girl.

And while the opening is cute:

It's the ending that everyone remembers. This is the song that doesn't end...

And while my youngest sister was of the age when Zoobilee Zoo was popular,

My other sister and I were more around the age for the Great Space Coaster (though even that I was a little too old for). But no gnews is good gnews with Gary Gnu.

My favorite early, early childhood show however, was a local area children's show that was only shown in the Tri-State Area around New York: The Magic Garden, starring Paula and Carole. I had probably the first Magic Garden fan website on the internet, and when they finally set up their own site they linked me!

Cartoon-wise, from my younger childhood days of course I loved Star Blazers and Battle of the Planets, but I also liked a lot of other shows.
Flash Gordon - even back then I loved Prince Barin.

I also loved the live action movie. And later even the unrelated Defenders of the Earth.

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, like Darkwater, another epic serial with no ending.

Dungeons and Dragons - Hey look, it's the Dungeons and Dragons ride! I bought this the second it was released on DVD.

Hulk Hogan's Rock and Wrestling - yes, I know. But I really liked Hulk Hogan back then.

Shirt Tales - a Hallmark property that they turned into a Saturday morning tv show, it was a silly pleasure.

Herself the Elf - another Hallmark property. They made a single video, which I loved. I eventually got a copy of it on VHS. I collected Herself the Elf toys too. I still have them.

Laff-A-Lympics - I loved Scooby Doo, and I was always rooting for the Scooby Doobies over the Yogi Yahooies. What could be more fun than having a whole bunch of cartoons all crammed together in one show?

The New Shmoo - I can't begin to explain. For you youngsters, the Shmoo was originally from a newspaper comic called Li'l Abner - it was before my time however. Yet, when I was a kid, there was shmoo stuff everywhere. I always wanted the shmoo balloons from the store. HB released a pretty bad cartoon to capitalize on it.

I always wondered if Barbapoppa's designs were based on the Shmoo. Was Li'l Abner popular in France?
