Hollywood Auction

Has anyone heard about the recent Hollywood auction where Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was up for bid? I downloaded a PDF of the catalog and there was tons of gorgeous animation art for sale along with the amazing movie props.

My GOD some of those pieces....actually a lot of those pieces. I'm stunned at just what I was looking at on some pages. It sure makes even my Holy Grail cels less daunting to save for in comparison.

I really really enjoyed looking through that catalog, seeing SO MUCH western animation history all in one shot. Thank you for sharing this!

I almost drove over there to watch the Profiles in History auctions since they are about 15-20 minutes away from where I live. But, I am on a budget and I did not want to get too tempted! Some of those pieces sold for much higher than I thought while some did not sell, which I was surprised.
The Charlie Brown cels sold for a lot more than I thought originally.

Thats awesome that you could have gone to see some of it live! I am way to broke to even have had a chance at any of that stuff so temptation wouldn't have been a problem. The one cel I could have bid on, actually didn't go for as much as I thought it would. I would love to have been able to afford this title card from the New Scooby-Doo Movies:

The Sonny and Cher episode has always been my favorite!

I am not that surprised that a lot stuff didn't sell with the economy being so crappy right now.
