Somebody Hacked into My RS Account!!

Ok I know this isn't anime related, but I had to call out and complain to SOMEBODY because I am at my wits end!! For the past two days I have been unable to log in into my RS account. As a lot of you hopefully may remember, my gallery is Eyes0nme19 cel gallery. I collect mostly Naruto, Flame of Recca, and currently just updated some One Piece. Well a day before all of this happens, I get an email from rubberslug saying I requested my password, which I don't remember requesting at all. I think I would know my own password, I've been logging on for more than a year?! So I thought it was weird and thought it was spam or something and totally disregarded it. AND the very next day, I couldn't log on. I was like What?!! I tried my password over and over again, and it just didn't work. So I asked for my password to be emailed to me. NEVER got an email back. So okay...that was weird. I then contacted Jason, he emailed me back asking me if this was really my account because he heard back from somebody else that they've been receiving password request emails. I was like WHO the heck is this person??! I check rubberslug, my gallery is completely gone. I'm confused, pissed, and very frustrated. Is it even possible for somebody to hack into your gallery, remove your email and then take over your art scans?? Or am I just crazy? I mean I wouldn't know, I've only been collecting for a little over a year. Has this ever happened to any of you guys? I am so worried that this person whoever it is, has access to my entire account. HE/SHE could delete anything or copy anything. I am so upset and mad!!

Yikes! That's really scary. I hate hackers so much. Dunno what to tell you except for the fact that you do have proof that you're the original owner of the gallery if you still have that first email which requested your password. IMO I'd just forward that to Jason to show him that you're being legit.

But I did want to say that when I went to your gallery, it was still up:

It looks like your stuff is still there, so I don't know what the situation is with this hacker...

Yeah, I did forward the first email I got to Jason. Haven't heard back from him yet. I really hope things get sorted out. Thanks for letting me know my gallery is still up...I just don't understand why someone would do this

I can see your gallery on RS today, too. But I looked for it last night (after first reading your post) and could not find it in the alphabetical gallery listings. Which probably doesn't help all that much, but at least helps you confirm that it really had dropped off of RS for some reason. Maybe it was "hidden". If it was "hidden", someone who had your URL could still view it normally, but it wouldn't show up on the alpha listings or any of the other public places on RS.

Can you tell if anything about your gallery or "behind the scenes" has changed? Like, changes to the layout or comments or anything like that? Hopefully, everything is just as you left it. I'm sure you thought of this already, but you might want to change your password -- again. Just to be on the safe side. I hope everything with this situation gets straightened out for you.

At any rate, I'm happy to see your gallery back! You know how much I love visiting.

Thanks tex-chan! Well I don't think any of my comments has changed, but I haven't looked very closely. My gallery color layout has changed but that's because Jason restored it. He asked for more proof so I sent him photos of my cels and sketches among other things. Should hear back from him soon. When I get my gallery back I'll definitely change the password. I'm so looking forward to having everything go back to normal again!

It sounds like your email may have been hacked first (if they had your password to change the email address on your RS account and requested your password in the first place, they may have had access to your email -- even SCARIER than someone having access to your RS account).

Sadly, stuff like this happens all the time ... you're just lucky it was only your RS account and not a bank account or something else that would produce a far bigger headache!

Actually he did suggest I do that, which I did. Good thing too cuz I would've never imagine someone would hack into my email first before getting into my rs account. Now that's just really frightening

Glad to hear he suggested you change your email password ... I do sorta have to wonder why anyone would want to or bother with hacking into anyone's RS account, though. How strange & seemingly pointless! Thankfully, RS accounts have no real personal information in them, though if you use your RS account username and/or password anywhere else on the 'net, you should change those passwords immediately, too (I have to imagine that Jason also suggested that you do this).

I guess some people just have no life . Hope you get things sorted out & back to normal quickly!
