Yes! You’re not the only one I love kitstheultimatebrucelee wrote:Thanks D123I'm gald to see another kit collector on board, thought I was the only one lol
the painter goes by the name Annya and has a website called Annya's workshop, her fee is most reasonable and for the amount she charge, her work is pretty nice.
Ahh yes I totally agree with you there. The eyes! They are the windows to the soul, if you can’t do them the kit is totally ruined no matter how great the rest is. I was surprised with my kit the eyes were actually really nice compared to a lot of their others that just look dead and sloppy very disappointing since they claim they are professionalstheultimatebrucelee wrote:your very welcomeactually from the picture, I think your kit is not that bad, I like the skin color the painter used. with annya I can't stand her usual skin color(dirt brownish) so I give specific example of what I had in mind with photo reference and she only came out with a color that is less brown but still dirt looking(looking close up) color for skin. two things I think that can define a painter's skill are eyes and skin tone.
The lining of her black dress is red so when it lifts up or turns over that’s what you’re seeing the back of the black dress. They forgot to paint this part here and they didn’t add those extra strands of hair by her ears http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn14 ... 92copy.jpg but yeah I probably sound crazy ![]() ![]() I like kits to look as close to the reference pictures as possible I know it can’t be exact but close when I seen the initial finished pics everything was all visibly opposite colors. I was horrified ![]() I wish I noticed the other mistakes so I could have had them fixed ![]() ![]() |
yes, I think 3D is in many ways superior than 2Dglorff wrote:Some friends of mine are into the "Horse" model collecting scene and these make me think of what they have. There are some extrordinary painters working in that field and they customize them in remarkable ways.
LoL exactly how I feel, but I really don’t think they care at all they even messed up the fronttheultimatebrucelee wrote:@D123, haha, from your photos I didn't realize your kit was from yeti art-_-" funny I was just discussing them with a fellow collector yesterday....that plus their skin tone is too white and really missing something and doesn't bring out the realistic/tender skin tone feeling at all. In your case, the missing detail pretty much proves how careless and unprofessional they are.
If you ever do try him let me know how it turns out! I wasn’t able to find too many painters and this was the only one I was really impressed withtheultimatebrucelee wrote:the Singapore painter you mentioned here seems to be quite good and even better for the price he charge, I heavily prefer a realistic snow white skin tone as do most serious collectors in Japan, but this artist does very clean job and good with eyes, combined with the excellent price tag, this might just be another option I'll have in the future
don't feel too bad, my first kit because I couldn't find a painter in states I used a private proxy to hire an unknown painter in japan to do the job for 30000yen+15000yen for kit plus all the proxy fees on a 1/7 kit. they painter did a good job on clothes and all that but a horrifying job on eyes as they're super off, two eyes looks at two different directions-_-" when it arrived to me it even had one arm fell off so I had to glue it back on, of course I did a messy job so now its a bit messy and I just stored it away and never looked at it again-_-" Also, for the mistake parts I think you can just send the kit to annya for a partial repaint fix and pay a small portion of what she'd charge on whole kit. for shipping the kit, fedex I think would be the cheapst and safest way to go.D123 wrote:Wish I knew better really depressing considering how much I paid and get sh*t in return, I can’t get it re-painted and throw 350.00+ down the drain either. Seriously hard to look at the kit I get sick
will do, although currently I'm leaning toward just buying completed kits since that way you can always know what your getting and also save me lots of time and trouble. downside of course, I don't know when my most wanted kits'll ever show up, if they do.If you ever do try him let me know how it turns out! the only thing I worry about doing that is matching the paint but I think I will definitely ask her in the future, thanks so much leetheultimatebrucelee wrote:Also, for the mistake parts I think you can just send the kit to annya for a partial repaint fix and pay a small portion of what she'd charge on whole kit. for shipping the kit, fedex I think would be the cheapst and safest way to go.
That’s exactly what I’ve wanted to do but the kits I want never show up and if they do I never seem to have the money at the timetheultimatebrucelee wrote:will do, although currently I'm leaning toward just buying completed kits since that way you can always know what your getting and also save me lots of time and trouble. downside of course, I don't know when my most wanted kits'll ever show up, if they do.D123 wrote:If you ever do try him let me know how it turns out! Thanks! I like the modifications they do to their kits. Also that layer of gloss they apply to the eyestheultimatebrucelee wrote:btw here is this weeks listing for the japanese painter you've mentioned: http://openuser.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp ... y_kein2000
