Oh man! That's a gorgeous Jubei. Sorry you didn't win this one, Captain Haddock. But maybe that means something even better is waiting for you just around the corner. *hopeful vibes* :D

What's worse is that I'm 99% sure I know who outbid you. Still, if I'm right, the positive side is that it is not going to a black-hole collector. So hopefully as time passes, the season will change and an opportunity will come to get it on the rebound. The mixed blessing of an auction loss is that you keep your money, and, as tex says, it gives you new options.

Still, it's never pleasant to lose this way. Time to haul out the cel books and renew acquaintances with your many and much-envied wins.

getting out bidded on the last minute is very annoying, even more so when its something you really want. but if my memory serves me right, wasn't this piece listed under for sale/offer section under this person's gallery awhile back on rubberslug? either that or this auction was listed more than once, I remember because the owner of the gallery updated quite a few pieces in this section some weeks ago. and some of them later made it onto ebay.

Awww! Sorry to hear that! I was outbid on a Disney cel I wanted on the last 5-10 seconds. *screams*
But, such is Ebay, and I honestly prefer Ebay's auction style over those very very annoying 2 minute extra counters that add an extra 2 minutes for every bid someone does.....

But, like what everyone says, it just means that you have more options for something better for ya! :-)

Thank you all for the supportive comments. :)

I don't even mind the fact I was outbid so much I know how ebay works, I'm more annoyed with myself for the fact I got distracted doing something I've already forgotten and missed out on something great. Still it does at least mean I can concentrate on the auction I started bidding on at the same time (which strictly speaking I shouldn't have... :dlook ). So hopefully Tex/Sensai yes in a way it will pay off. And maybe your correct sensai perhaps one day I'll have another shot at it. Just as I was thinking I'd finally escaped the polarity of my arch cel nemessis Krafty (who I actually liked and got on with, but just in terms of the fact we went after similar things) I get a new player in town...

theultimatebrucelee I don't remember seeing it doing the rounds, but in all honesty I haven't been as focused on cel collecting so it may well have slipped through the net.

Yeah I hate the whole added time style auctions, the extra 5 mins thing annoys me. The thing is it doesn't help the customer because you have to sit there for 20 mins solid, which sometimes just isn't practical (if your in work or whatever). So the only reason for doing it is maybe they think they'll increase margins or something? But if everyone knew there was a definate auction end time they'd all just either put in the bids at the last mo or else just put in the max for what they're willing to pay. So I can't see what difference it would make other then be more annoying for the customer.

The last minutes of an ebay auction are the most important.. that's when people snipe.

Yeah I knew that which is why I'm annoyed that I got distracted.
