I've been watching this auction with interest, as it is the finest Voltron cel in my memory to ever hit the market. Indeed, it's the best Voltron cel (perhaps not the most important Voltron cel out there - but definitely the best looking) I've ever seen. I was very curious to see what value the market would place on this item as there are no true comps from that series to judge value.

I think it's safe to assume that the artwork is headed state-side, as GoLion wasn't very popular in Japan and Voltron made such an impression on US children of the 80's. I would have liked to get in the game on this one, but the auction took off like a rocket ship. It was fun but also insane to watch that bidding war. Looks like the dust has settled now, though.

Its easily the best Voltron/GoLion cel I have ever seen. I knew it would be pricey, but it has gone way over what I expected. I would absolutely love to own this cel, but can't justify paying that price.
Oh to be super rich and not even care about the price. Good luck to the ultimate winner, and congratulations on a superb piece

I got the only cel I bidded on from the bwa auction today, glad the final price of 25,400 is much lower than I expect. The one before I wasn't interest but it goes beyond 100k yen. Im really a fan of voltes v and daimos cartoon.
