You know I lurk through your CCS collection fairly often, JD. So I figured I'd fake everyone out and pick this DBZ cel, which is a series that I don't and likely won't collect.

So why? Because the contraption Goku has on here reminds me of my CPAP machine, which tries to rejuvenate me every night between midnight and 6 AM. I'm sure I look exactly like Goku with it on. But so far, so good.

You know I'm a huge lurker of yours as well, and lol it does kind of look like one of those machines. My Uncle uses one as well!

But just incase you didn't know... I might murder to find one in this sequence...

Thanks for alerting me that the link to the screencap on that cel had somehow gotten broken. Fixed now. Yes, in a perfect world, I'd have the A1 that Yuekito now has. But the celga no kami have been good enough to me in Ep. 65 cels already. With their grace, the A3 or A4 will turn up.

This cel of Duo Maxwell really plays up the character's ambiguous gender orientation. If you didn't know the series, you could easily think this was a feisty female, with boobs even -- were it not for the priest's collar. (Anyone know if Duo is a Jesuit, a Franciscan, or a Benedictine? Being Lutheran, I'm a bit dim about the nice points of Catholicism.)

I still haven't decided if I am going to take the plunge here... But snuggly cels like this make a good argument ^_^

http://sensei.rubberslug.com/gallery/in ... mID=289748

As for Duo... It's interesting he isn't really raised religious at all. He was an orphan that does not even know his real name... He was living on the streets of his colony, and running with a gang of children led buy someone named Solo, he found Duo and gave him the name of Dodger. The gang gets killed off by some sort of epidemic and those who survive are taken in by a local catholic church it is never stated what order. To make a long story shortish... Sister Helen and Father Maxwell, the people that took him in get killed by the government, because some rebels took over the church, and instead of negotiating they just decide to kill everyone hostages included. The only reason Duo survived was because he was sent by the rebels on a suicide mission to steal a mobile suit or they will kill the hostages, him being Duo comes back with the suit successfully only to have Sister Helen die in his arms. He wears the priest costume in homage to them, and took the name Duo Maxwell in homage to both Solo, Sister Helen, and Father Maxwell.

Whew... Sorry to be so long winded! Just talking about it makes me miss GW... I loved the complexity of the story thrown in with explosions and giant robots... You really can't go wrong ^_^

I have to go for this cel -

This is exactly the kind of cel I love to collect - perfectly sums up the character, is a wonderful image in it's own right, and is an opening cel! Perfection! The ultimate Jupiter cel - love it!!!!!

When I first started collecting I wanted to collect Eva, but ouch prices! And of course my fave character here:

It's beautiful, and I always loved that the one person that tells Shinji he loves him, Shinji decides you know what, that dude needs to die...

Sad but beautiful...

One has to love the expression on this one.

Charming moment from Cyberteam in Akihabara . Thanks for doing such a strong job in preparing the cel for display and annotating it so thoroughly!
