So for the past howevermany years, all my cel books have been in cardboard boxes on the floor in my closet. I finally decided enough was enough. I was going to try to get some kind of shelving custom made, but browsing IKEA's website I noticed the BESTA shelving unit which is about 15 inches deep and a single unit about 24 inches tall. It's the perfect size for all my binders, the 11x17 and 13x19. The only one that doesn't fit is the 18x24, but I never really expected that to fit anywhere anyway. I got one that is basically two units tall and two units wide, and added some doors to keep the cats out. I have to say, it looks really nice IMHO. The doors I got are extra shiny! Now I've got all my cels nicely organized, with plenty of room if I get more. I spaced out the shelves on the right for 11x17 books and supply storage on top. I even put some framed art and lithographs on one of the shelves. I put the 18x24 on top to keep it off the floor. I'm super happy!
Hector the Collector loved these things with all his soul,
Loved them more than shining diamonds, loved them more than glistenin' gold.
Hector called to all the people,"Come and share my treasure trunk!"
And all the silly sightless people came and looked...and called it junk.
Awesome new organized cabinet! and love those glossy doors, first glance would tell you treasures are hosted inside If I ever get enough space freed up, this would be my top upgrade option.
Very cool way to display those. I am sure it makes you feel better
Then just being in boxes. One of my clients is a safe and lock
Company, so I bought a fire proof safe to keep my artwork in.
Congrats on the upgrade. Its sweet!
So I got the new storage set up in March. In April, a pipe broke in the attic. It brought down the ceiling in the master bathroom, and flooded the master bathroom, bedroom, closets, part of the guest bedroom, and other bathroom. If my cel books had still been in cardboard boxes on the floor in the closet, I would have been SCREWED! As it is, there's a ton of structural damage (in addition to the ceiling they had to take down a whole wall and parts of other walls to dry out and drill holes in some other walls) but almost none of my actual stuff is ruined. I'm still working on getting things fixed, but at least my art is okay!

I love it! If I ever get my anime room underway, I would seriously consider getting a similar setup. As of now, my most prized ones are in my husband's gun safe. Kudos to ya!
