After much discussion on the conversation post, and some great ideas from other members, and stealing some direct verbiage from Sensei (Kudos Sensei!).
1. Participants will start with the newest galleries page there are about 40 galleries there, any one of which could be a new beta member!
2. Take 5-10 minutes at a time viewing the gallery or longer if it is something you are interested in!
3. Send RS Feedback -
"Hi! My name is ________ and I noticed you recently joined Rubberslug! You have a great collection, and I wanted to reach out to you and see if you have ever heard of the Anime-Beta Forum, we are a group of collectors that have been cel collecting anywhere from 15-1 years, Beta has a lot of really committed curators who can help make your gallery even better. We have several events in the works that you might want to participate in, including the Annual Cel Contest, Gallery Open House, and are in talks are a way to put together a newbies guide! Your feedback in particular would be very helpful to this project because everyone has questions when they first start, and we have to work together to make sure all knowledge gathered here is passed down to the next generation! Please reply back to me, I would love to send you an invitation to join Beta to join the conversation! Thanks, ________"
If there is anything you would like to add to the feedback, a favorite piece in their gallery feel free! (I like to say something about how this is my favorite piece in their gallery and such) This is an open ended project and is something we should all be working on, but I know sometimes sh** happens! ^_^
4. Post the curators gallery name and link to this thread I will be keeping a spreadsheet of the curators contacted on excel, and if they do contact you back to join beta also post here on the thread. I would like to track and see how effective this strategy is, I will also post to let you guys know how this project is progressing.
After we get through the first forty, then I think we should start working through alphabetically, checking to see if they are on beta first, and then changing that first sentence to: My name is ________ and I noticed your gallery on Rubberslug! If they are on Beta shoot them a PM to see what the what is!
This is nothing really new and doesn't have a huge timeline or deadline this is just basic community maintenance! There is no need to spend hours upon hours on this project maybe 10-15 minutes a week at most, and if you want to do more feel free! We are trying to generate the noise that is why we are starting here!
