2014 Thread

I'm surprised by how many years it's been since this project took place(started in 06/07 ended around 2010) and even more surprised that another one didn't come to fruition.

*Edit:* Added the last one as it was completely forgotten by me . It's still been a while though.

I would love to see this as an annual thing(mainly for each active member to give that extra cel/sketch they have no use for some kind of personal value).

So I have to ask, would anyone be interested in participating this year? International collectors are more than welcome. If the price for shipping is an issue, I'll have no problem lending a hand.

We did this a couple years ago too...2014-ish? I sent off a Minky Momo cel which was signed by a couple members of the community. Not a lot of people signed up for it, though...I think we had about 10.

I'm up for doing it again.

But if you guys want to do it again I'm up for it... I've got 3 other collectors I know for sure are coming to Otakon this year, two active and one lurker that I can strong arm..... ^_^

Yes, I'll be one of the Otakon people!! I mentioned it in the slack art chat early this morning so we may be able to recruit some more people. Almost everybody on there has AB but we seem to be a lot more active there than on here.

I actually have a few cels I'm considering using since they're spares & they don't fill the entire cel .

I don't know. Maybe. Was more curious about the process itself. The amateur historian in me cringes at the idea of "defiling" a production cel like this but the otaku finds the thought intriguing and appealing.

I wouldn't cringe too much as the cels that are usually used are ones that would more than likely be placed in the trash by the companies that made them. Besides, the value of said cel would increase with the signatures of fellow collectors .

What happens to the cel at the very end of it? Does it just go to whoever donated it for the project or something?

From what I recall, it usually goes back to the person who shipped it 1st. Which is why I'm selfishly hoping to mail it 1st , and why I want this to be an annual thing(so everyone has a chance to have a memento of this forum). I have the cel. I just have to ask if all participants still want in on this.
