We received a lot of great feedback during last year's open house. Sizing and site navigation seemed to be the two main concerns, along with a suggestion of more comments. Since we were looking to increase the image size as well, and because the site had started to sprawl a bit, a rebuild was in order. We still liked the overall design, so I decided to stick with it and utilize popups a bit more, adding the sketches for hanken items instead of showing each individual piece of hanken art separately. A perfect example of this is "Demon Coach", which went from 56 pieces down to 21 pieces, all while adding a new item. Comments are coming... I just haven't figured out how best to add them in yet. Maybe in the next update. Maybe later.

And along with the redesign comes a number of very special (to us) updates:

Honestly, we never thought we'd find something of this level at an affordable price in our lifetime, so it was a wonderful surprise when we saw them up for sale. Both of these came to us in rough condition. The previous owner had framed both... poorly. The background was GLUED to the backing board in one case. Yuck. Suffice it to say, we worked hard to get these into a more preservable state after scanning them in.

What a fantastic update! There are some very impressive pieces.

You mentioned one of them having the the background glued to the backing board when framed. I am in the exact same situation now with a pan cel setup I purchased. I'm wondering what you did to get it into a more "preservable" state.

Regarding the glued background, we very carefully cut the background free from the backing board using an X-acto type knife. It was only glued at 3 spots, so it worked out okay. As an aside, the blade was always pointed slightly downward towards the backing board to keep from accidentally cutting the background as we separated the glue. Some of the backing board came away with the glue but the background remained completely unharmed.

Just wanted to add that Panic-Chan is back up! I still have to figure out how best to include both the douga pop-up and an animation (I can do it, but I don't like the way it looks/works... and I'm looking for a more elegant solution) but regardless I'm happy to have another Takahiro-centric category back online!

Hope everyone is doing well!
I managed to get another update ready before the end of 2016. A lot of site tweaks and cleanup here and there but there are also some great new pieces in Marine A Go-Go and Angel Blade (both adult shows, so I won't be providing direct links here )
Ikenie is back up (again... adult show... ) as well as Rayearth. Shamanic Princess and Gundam are both down for the moment to finish up a couple tweaks, but I expect they'll be back up soon enough along with a few other things.
Guess that's about it then.
