LOL, I own the Bros. Quay short anthology DVD (they also did the video to Sledgehammer, believe it or not ) and I'm getting Svankmajer's 2 DVD set for Christmas (my parents can't keep anything secret

). His adaptation of Alice in Wonderland is one of the most disturbingly creepy I've ever seen.
I've only recently found Robert Morgan, but I'm going to try to get my British friends to find me some more of his work (particularly "Separation" - it's won 15 awards but I can't find it ANYWHERE).
For some reason your link to "Burton's roots" didn't work, but believe me I'm a huge fan of almost everything else he's ever done (including Frankenwienie). I just feel that he focused more on technique than plot and leaned too heavily on slapstick and Disney-esque humor rather than original cleverness (if you want to check out my
Yahoo review be my guest

) I thought it was an incredibly beautiful movie that lacked substance.
Your description of Ah Pook Is Here intrigues me. I can't wait to watch it when I have access to another computer with working speakers
