Right now (pending the end of the Beta Awards process) he's Evil Bogus Sanzo, summoned up by the villain Dougan in the
Saiyuki Gensomaden: Requiem movie to attack the real McMonk (or at least make him feel guilty for not voting in the Hentai category). You can see him more clearly at

There were a bunch of these "I voted" sigs distributed last year during the voting, and I missed them, so as I was scanning my latest batch of
Saiyuki sketches, I took a moment to shrink and customize this image.
Normally, my "Seeya! at Sensei's Anime Gallery" is the kyubi or fox-spirit Sakura from
Hyper Police. It's just a sketch of a scene where she says 'bye at the end of a work day, but I thought it was amazingly elegant and full of life. You can see it better at

Later I realized it was done from a sketch by Tatsuya Ishihara, who's since become famous as the director for
Air and
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, not to mention some outstanding animation directing for
Inuyasha. (One of his original layouts, with his personal stamp, was going on YJ not so long ago for an ungodly price, even considering the sums IY art commands.) While it's not an original Ishihara but a gengaman's clean-up of his rough, I still know why it's got that special sparkle of a great animator.
Both are hot spots so that someone who wants to go directly to my gallery needs just to click anywhere on the object.
