What is your signature?

Post by wELCOME cONSUMER »

I liked the "What's your avatar?" thread because it answered a lot of questions for me. So I thought I'd ask about signatures now.

I'm not hip to most new anime series and I've noticed a lot of people have images/screenshots from their favorite new shows. Seems like a good time to ask, "What show is that?"

I stick with a theme for my own signatures: things lovely to consume! Almost always food, but I guess some other things might fit that criteria as well... :dlook I change my signature as often as I can, sometimes to fit my mood or perhaps show off what I cooked that day. When a season or holiday is approaching, I try to match the mood. Right now, Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner. Mmmm...

So, what's your signature? Is there a particular method you employ when selecting a signature? Do you like to keep it simple? If it's a quote, why that particular one? Elaborating on the significance would be great. Do you ever change it? If so, how often?

My signature is of Marianne from the "To Heart 2 XRATED" game and the upcoming "To Heart 2 ~another days" game and To Heart 2 OVA. I haven't played the game, but Marianne was probably the funnest character in it. Marianne appeared in Sasara Kusugawa's story senario. Sasara's gaming story was blogged here:

Not really. Usually I use an image because I either like the character or like the anime. I'd rather include an image from something recent or current, but sometimes I settle for all time favorite characters or anime. The images are usually from a ren'ai or bishoujo gaming anime.

Including an image from something recent has its danger though. I once used an image of Ibuki from Happiness just because I liked the image of her wearing that hat, but I ended up neither liking her character or the anime. Mistakes will happen sometimes. :P
Do you ever change it? If so, how often?
I've been averaging changing it about every eighteen to nineteen days. My current sig is my twenty fifth. All of them except for the two Coyote Ragtime Shows, the Ichigo Mashimaro, the NHK and Karin came from games.

I dunno how to explain it. It's Ash from Army of Darkness and Evil Dead. But recreated in a fighter platform. I dunno if a game like it actually exists or not. But it's Ash so I don't care.

My quote is from Evangelion.

Ichigo.
Beautiful Ichigo.
Almost always some form thereof.

EDIT: Okay, but since Sensei brought it up... I had to join in the hentai fun as well. :P

Nearly so. Some may form thereof, but not all.

Kinda self-explanitory.
Image of Phibrizzo during his death, by his own Mother's hand.. quote is from my favorite song, Missing, by Evanescence. It suits what's going on.

Ah, but you see, to me it's not self-explanatory. I didn't know what was going on in your signature till now. I recognized the character but I haven't watched the entire Slayers canon, so I didn't know the exact context. Your explanation helps so much! :)

Right now (pending the end of the Beta Awards process) he's Evil Bogus Sanzo, summoned up by the villain Dougan in the Saiyuki Gensomaden: Requiem movie to attack the real McMonk (or at least make him feel guilty for not voting in the Hentai category). You can see him more clearly at http://sensei.rubberslug.com/gallery/in ... mID=184470

There were a bunch of these "I voted" sigs distributed last year during the voting, and I missed them, so as I was scanning my latest batch of Saiyuki sketches, I took a moment to shrink and customize this image.

Normally, my "Seeya! at Sensei's Anime Gallery" is the kyubi or fox-spirit Sakura from Hyper Police. It's just a sketch of a scene where she says 'bye at the end of a work day, but I thought it was amazingly elegant and full of life. You can see it better at http://sensei.rubberslug.com/gallery/in ... mID=139468

Later I realized it was done from a sketch by Tatsuya Ishihara, who's since become famous as the director for Air and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, not to mention some outstanding animation directing for Inuyasha. (One of his original layouts, with his personal stamp, was going on YJ not so long ago for an ungodly price, even considering the sums IY art commands.) While it's not an original Ishihara but a gengaman's clean-up of his rough, I still know why it's got that special sparkle of a great animator.

Both are hot spots so that someone who wants to go directly to my gallery needs just to click anywhere on the object.

Well, Toni, all I can say is: YOUR siggie is a real turkey!

:crazy

Man, I crack me up. :D

Mine is pretty self-evident; it's a Michener quote that I came across while slogging through mountains of his papers. (You think the books are big? 8O You should see his notes and drafts! Lawdy!).

The reason it rang so true to me is that I've gotten zinged more than once since I got involved in anime and manga and art and soforth for being too involved in "kiddy stuff." This seems so much kinder a response than what *really* runs through my mind when people poke at my hobbies :)

And us as well. :)

But I like the explanation of your quote. That's incredibly interesting. I wouldn't have thought about that way, but man, what a great response to the nay-sayers. Leave it to Kay! ^_^

I was about to ask who Phibrizzo is but after reading WC's comment I'm guessing it's someone from Slayers? I've never seen that series so I'm completely in the dark.

I answered mine on the "what's your avatar" thread but I'll answer here too. :) Mine is Syaoran, Sakura and Mokona from the second season OP of Tsubasa Chronicles.
