I'm surprised this topic has become so active! How nice!
Nadia, 22 cels?! Woo-hoo! I guess when you're hooked, you're hooked. But that's pretty indicative of GR. You either love it or you hate it. There's no grey area. I'm pleased to know you're the former and not the latter
There's several decent art books and episode guide-type companions floating around in Japan that are worth a purchase. Disregard the text if you can't read Japanese and just enjoy the pictorials. On the plus side, or maybe this is a negative, the realm of decent GR merchandise is fairly finite. You could easily collect all of the stuff that's really worth owning in a short period of time. Finding it might be tough, but there's not much out there, 1)
to find, or 2)
worth finding. That can be a double edged sword though. But that's why I migrated to collecting cels!
Keropi, that new anime is based on the original manga. Aside from the principle characters of Daisaku and GR, the anime OAV we're all discussing here has almost nothing to do with the original Yokoyama comic series. That new series is much more accurate and fixated on the robots. Looks very good, either way. I'm hoping and praying FUNimation acquires the rights to the US version. (Why?.... no reason! hehehe

)
redwolf, OMG!!! Thank you SO much for pointing that out to me! There's absolutely no excuse for people not to try out GR now! Who could argue that ridiculously low price! I may have to nab a few for friends.
I'm with Gordon on the

reaction. That's just... CRAZY!
Another beautiful facet to GR is the score. The music, all on its on, is grandiose and extraordinary. Not something you'd expect from anime. Which makes that bundle all the more worth while. I wish they'd released all 7 soundtracks domestically tho, instead of just the first two.
