Anime News Network listing for it:

Has anyone heard anything about this? It looks kind of cool.
Yeah, it's come up between us GR fanatics :crazy

All the info I've seen, is pretty much on the site. Looks really, really good so far and even though it has nothing to do with Imagawa's 1992 GR-OVA, I'm still interested. I wish they'd update the English site more often...

With 2 new manga and the TV show, 2007 is shaping up to be a good year for GR fans. :woot:

I got a Rinkya package today :D That's anotheR 22 Giant Robo cels to scan *arrrghhhhh* How did I become this hooked so quickly? I still haven't writen discriptions for any cels from my last update!!!

I think my new cels fall into one of two catorgries - (1)great Diasaku cel or (2) freebie with great Diasaku cel :P

Ah well!

I saw this on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/Giant-Robo-Art-Book ... dZViewItem
I was just wondering, does anybody here have it? Is it any good? Cuz I'd quite like to buy it :D I saw Gin Rei/Daisaku/Giant Robo on the front and thought "Hey - this must be the best book ever published!" :D  What do you think?
22!!! Hurry up, start scanning... :P

As for the "This is Animation" GR Book, it's the 2nd greatest book published  It sorta like a synopsis book for Ep 1-4. Lots of screen shots, but it also has some concept art and setti in the back, fold-out poster, GinRei paper dolls, and cover/pin-up art, and cute mini-comics...all in all, 100+ pages of GR-goodness. Yeah, you should get it X|

That price is a bit steep and you may want to see if you can land one from YJ!, even with dep fees its possible to get it cheaper.

I'm jealous that you have a Shizuma drive!
Thanks Nadia, just a little something I dug up in my Closet of Mystery (TM).

Which turned out to be a mystery of its own...as I wrote in the comments for those cels...

Did I mention the drive here?
<.<

<.<
You don't work for BF do you? *glomps case*

I have a bit of detailing to do before I can take any pics. It's nothing special though...a shiny tube in a case...but I like it just the same :D

I'm surprised this topic has become so active! How nice! :D

Nadia, 22 cels?! Woo-hoo! I guess when you're hooked, you're hooked. But that's pretty indicative of GR. You either love it or you hate it. There's no grey area. I'm pleased to know you're the former and not the latter

There's several decent art books and episode guide-type companions floating around in Japan that are worth a purchase. Disregard the text if you can't read Japanese and just enjoy the pictorials. On the plus side, or maybe this is a negative, the realm of decent GR merchandise is fairly finite. You could easily collect all of the stuff that's really worth owning in a short period of time. Finding it might be tough, but there's not much out there, 1) to find, or 2) worth finding. That can be a double edged sword though. But that's why I migrated to collecting cels! 8)

Keropi, that new anime is based on the original manga. Aside from the principle characters of Daisaku and GR, the anime OAV we're all discussing here has almost nothing to do with the original Yokoyama comic series. That new series is much more accurate and fixated on the robots. Looks very good, either way. I'm hoping and praying FUNimation acquires the rights to the US version. (Why?.... no reason! hehehe :dgrin)

redwolf, OMG!!! Thank you SO much for pointing that out to me! There's absolutely no excuse for people not to try out GR now! Who could argue that ridiculously low price! I may have to nab a few for friends. :)

I'm with Gordon on the :jaw reaction. That's just... CRAZY!

Another beautiful facet to GR is the score. The music, all on its on, is grandiose and extraordinary. Not something you'd expect from anime. Which makes that bundle all the more worth while. I wish they'd released all 7 soundtracks domestically tho, instead of just the first two.

I can't believe I only just noticed him! He's gorgeous!
I can't believe I missed this post! 8O Thank you very much Nadia :) That's a fairly old cel tho. This is one of those times when the "date added" feature on RS comes in real handy. I was kind of unsure when I added him but the gallery dates don't lie. Actually, it's kind of interesting to see what my first uploaded cels were. :o

Was surfing the net and found an interesting GR fan art. Very well done!

Agreed, That's one that I bookmarked real quick. I like it cuz it's like those summary/preview images they have at the end of GR episodes. You don't see that type of painterly rendering associated with fan anime/manga art very often, especially from US fans.

Here's one of my favorites, but I don't find it on Google Image search as easily as I used to...
